TREATY
          BETWEEN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND JAPAN ON MUTUAL
                 LEGAL ASSISTANCE IN CRIMINAL MATTERS

                          (Tokio, 12.V.2009)

     The  Russian Federation and Japan (hereinafter referred to as the
"Parties"),
     Desiring  to  establish  more  effective cooperation between both
States in the field of mutual legal assistance in criminal matters,
     Desiring that such cooperation will contribute to combating crime
in both States,
     Have agreed as follows:
